Yu Zhifei, the man who has been credited for bringing F1 racing to China, has been sentenced to four years in prison.
Yu Zhifei is the former general manager of the Shanghai International Circuit. He was found guilty of embezzling funds of more than ¥1m (£69,500) from Shenhua Football Club to pay for a luxury home during the late 1990s.Yu Zhifei, a former government official, was in charge of the Shanghai International Circuit when Formula 1 made its debut in Shanghai in 2004.
